How To Refer
How to Refer or Get Involved
Street Teams offers a range of support and activities depending on the needs of the child, family, or community. There are different ways to access our services depending on what kind of support you’re looking for.
Medium-Risk Exploitation Referrals (Commissioned Service)
Street Teams is the commissioned service for Walsall Local Authority to work with children and young people who have been identified as being at medium risk of exploitation (those targeted or groomed for the purposes of exploitation).
If you’re a professional and believe a child may be at risk:
-
Complete the Walsall Exploitation Tool (available via our link, your agency or the Walsall Safeguarding Partnership website).
-
Send it to: missingexploitedchildren@walsall.gov.uk
-
The referral will be discussed at the Multi-Agency Exploitation Triage to decide the right support.
Street Teams continues to support the young person even if their level of risk changes.
If you need advice before referring, contact us — we’re happy to discuss concerns or help you decide the right route.
Early Intervention Referrals (Community Futures Project)
Our early intervention 1:1 and small group sessions support children identified through our Enlighten Programme in schools.
Following these sessions, schools can complete our Early Intervention Referral Form to request additional targeted support.
Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme
We are a HAF service. Parents can sign children up to take part in our school holiday activities through the Walsall HAF portal:

Peer Mentoring and Volunteering
For anyone who has had experiences similar to those we’ve talked about on this site and want to make a difference?
We’re developing peer mentoring opportunities for young people and adults who want to use their experiences to help others.
Or, if you know someone who maybe interested in volunteering and supporting our community work, we’d love to hear from them.
