How We Can Help

How We Can Help

At Street Teams, we understand how worrying it can be when your child is at risk, being influenced by others, or showing changes that concern you.
You’re not alone — and we’re here to help you, your child, and your whole family.

Our work supports children, young people, parents, carers, and families to reduce exploitation and wider risks outside of the home.
We know that harms don’t happen in isolation, so we work contextually — focusing on the relationships, environments, and inequalities that can make young people more vulnerable.

How We Help Parents, Carers & Families

  • 1:1 Support – We offer direct support to parents, carers, and siblings of children who have been at risk of, targeted for, or are being exploited.

  • Wellbeing & Positive Activity Groups – We run friendly, welcoming sessions for parents, carers, and community members who want to:

    • Learn more about outside harms and how to keep their community safe

    • Improve their own wellbeing, confidence, and connection

    • Take part in positive, relaxing activities such as crafts, walks, gardening, or group discussions

  • Family-Focused Events – We host community and family events designed to bring people together, celebrate strengths, and build safer, more integrated communities across Walsall.

  • Early-Access Support – We help families access practical advice around housing, finances, parenting, and mental health, working in partnership with local services.

  • Rebuilding Relationships – We support families to strengthen communication, trust, and resilience, especially when relationships have become strained by outside pressures.

Our Approach

Street Teams works with families, not just for them.
We believe parents and carers are key to helping children stay safe and thrive.
By working alongside you, your child’s school, and your wider community, we can reduce risk, rebuild safety, and promote long-term wellbeing for everyone involved.

If You’re Worried

If you have concerns about your child or want to get involved in community wellbeing sessions:

  • You can contact Street Teams directly for advice or to self-refer

  • Speak to your child’s school or youth worker, who can connect you with us

  • Call Childline (0800 1111) or Crimestoppers (0800 555 111) if you need confidential advice

Together, we can reduce risks, strengthen families, and build safer, more connected communities.
